Network of International Christian Schools
Network of International Christian Schools (NICS)
is a missionary organization founded
on the belief that a major thrust for World Evangelism and discipleship for
Christ can happen through the classroom with the impact made by committed
Christian educators overseas. NICS was initially founded twenty years ago to serve missionary
families in South Korea. Since that time the schools have opened their doors to
the international and local community. Today the many families that attend NICS
schools are made up of a wide range of religious and international backgrounds;
NICS currently has 21
schools in 16 different countries, including Korea, Indonesia,
Singapore, Brazil, Peru, Suriname, Japan, China, Kenya, Ghana, Turkey, Central
Asia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Malaysia, and the USA (headquarters for NorthStar
Academy, the online school); most of the schools are located in major capital cities. NICS is home to 4,700 students from

Highlands International School
Highlands International School (HIS) is a Pre-K through 12th grade Christian school in La Paz,
Bolivia and a member of NICS. HIS provides English-language education from a biblical
worldview using American-style curriculum. More than 200 students
currently attend HIS, with 29% of the student population from the international
community, 61% from the Bolivian community, and 10% from the missionary
community. The mission of HIS is "to train servant-leaders in La
Paz, striving for the highest standards and values in international Christian
education, seeking Christian educators, quality international curriculum, and
