Campus Upgrades!

Over the summer, some of our talented and hardworking Bolivian staff spent their time on campus improvements. They also had the help of a short term that visited from one of our staff member's churches back in the States. Check out the amazing results!

New artwork in the field, done by our Art Teacher, Pablo.

A whole new playground, including shaded seating areas!

The HIS building was originally a brick factory. The old chimney still remains.

More fabulous artwork. Thank you, Pablo!

And Just Like That, Year 3 Begins...

Summer passed all too quickly, but it was a wonderful time of being with my loved ones in the great outdoors of Idaho, Montana and Washington. It was truly a season of rest and rejuvenation and I am so grateful for the rich time I shared with family and friends and the beauty of God's creation I got to experience.

And now, I can’t believe I get to be a 3rd grade teacher. Everyone I've talked to says 3rd grade is a magical age and I can't wait to find out if they're right! Plus, being with younger kids has allowed me to once again break out all my owl themed classroom decor. :)

I arrived back in La Paz on Saturday and hit the ground running. (After a long nap, of course!) Saturday and Sunday involved meeting new team members (including my 2 new roommates-they seem great!) and reuniting with former team members. Watching the joyous reunions you'd think we'd been apart for years, rather than just a couple of months. What a blessing to be so warmly received. This week has been "work week"-preparing for the 200 some kids who will be filling our campus in just a few short days. I've been finding that putting my classroom together has been slow going. I'm in a new classroom this year (as I switched from 3rd to 5th) and getting the lay of the land has taken longer than expected. I'm enjoying the process, however, and I think I will really love my new room. It just happens to boast a beautiful view of the mountains!

Our staff has been able to spend some rich time in prayer together this week and we are excited and anticipant for all God has in store for this school year!

Reading Nook!

I will keep you posted with the final product! Our open house is Friday, so hopefully all will be ready then. I would love your prayers for a fruitful and productive first week of school, for a peaceful transition back to La Paz and for wisdom to teach and love well. Thank you and blessings on your week!
