Flooding in Bolivia

Dear friends,

Several of you have asked to be kept aware of any financial needs I may encounter while serving in Bolivia.

As you may be aware, intense rains over the last few weeks have affected several regions in the North of Bolivia. 29 people have died due to torrential rain and more than 35,000 families have been affected by the rains and flooding. So bad are the rains that a state of emergency has been declared throughout Bolivia.

For this reason, the National Honors Society at Highlands International School (my school!) is working to raise support and donate items to a community in need (Comunidad Tacana). They are asking for donations of medicine, canned foods, clothes, blankets and money.

All supplies and money will be given to the Rotary Club SAN JORGE, who will take the donated items to the families who were affected. All items must be collected by February 20th.

If you are interested in helping, a tax-deductible gift can be made to my personal fund through NICS. The money will go directly into my account and I will ensure the exact amount is given to the rotary club for assistance in disaster relief. If you choose to give, please send an email to jillnjorgensen@gmail.com letting me know the exact amount, as the information won’t show in my account for a few weeks.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support of the people of Bolivia.

Love and Blessings,
Jill
